Smart chair

Space saving is a crucial effort in libraries especially where open space is restricted. Often libraries had to abandoned the idea of providing area for leisure reading due to limited area. Smart Chair intention is to contribute towards provision of leisure reading materials in a small area. The Smart Chair is built to allow storage of reading materials “at” the chair. The chair is attached with book racks behind and underneath it to allow for reading materials to be place on it. It could carry quite number of reading material, therefore relieving users from walking back and forth to the magazine or book shelves area. As the chair only occupy a small area, provision of some of this chairs in a small area not only save space but allows the setting-up of leisure reading area. Otherwise, it could be station at various places in the library since it is light and mobile. A library could also create a lounge area using the smart chair. The Smart Chair attempts to encourage additional reading facilities without occupying a large area. The chair helps users in saving time from moving to and from the magazine or book shelves as the materials a user wants could be collected and place in the attached rack or pocket, thus allowing more time and focus towards reading.
