Abstract
Slide presentation for "Slaughtering"
Issue 1: Slaughtering by ahli kitab
Issue 2: Reciting basmalah during slaughtering
Animal slaughter is an important aspect of dietary law in Islam. It is not only closely related to the question of the halalness of food, but also involves compliance with the commandments of Allah SWT and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In today's increasingly global and multi-religious society, various questions arise related to slaughter, especially involving meat slaughtered by the people of the Book (i.e. Jews and Christians), as well as the issue of reciting the basmalah during slaughter. The first issue that will be discussed is the ruling on eating meat slaughtered by the people of the Book, whether it is permitted in Islam or otherwise. While the second issue touches on the obligation to recite the basmalah during slaughter - a practice that is an important condition in ensuring that the slaughter is valid and halal to eat. Both of these issues require research based on the texts of the Quran, hadith, and the views of scholars to ensure that Muslims do not fall into doubtful matters regarding food.
