Abstract

Mixed matrix membrane (MMM) based separation process has shown great performance and acquiring great potential in the industry. In this study, polymeric membrane (PES) incorporating with inorganic fillers (ZIF-8) and graphene oxide (GO) to enhance the characteristic and gas separation performance of MMMs. ZIF-8 crystals were synthesized by using different MeOH/Zn±²molar ratios. Another filler, graphene oxide was prepared using Modified Hummer method. Both fillers were characterized and analyzed using XRD, FTIR and TGA instrumentation. Gas permeation performance of MMMs were measured at different feed pressure of 1 bar until 5 bar to investigate the effective amount of ZIF-8 loading on the separation performance. The permeability and ideal selectivity for CO₂ gas increased with increased of ZIF-8 loading.
