Abstract

The study examines the effective leadership styles in public sector. A sample of 21 employees the management level in Pejabat Tanah dan Daerali Alor Gajah been involved in process of collecting information on the major issue of leadership. The effective leadership practice in the organization had been examined. Focused is more on management level as they are practicing leadership in the organization. The purposed of this study is to ensure the leadership that been practice and to gain some evidence regarding the theory of leadership in public sector whether it can be applied in this current year. Some theory of leadership been proposed but this study not cover all of leadership styles that been developed as it is number of it and in this study focused on three major leadership styles that is Transformational, Transactional and People Oriented. Lastly, it is important that the leader not focusing only on one style as it is better to have more style to suit the environment in organization and the employees demand.
