Industrial training: Kumpulan Media Karangkraf Sdn. Bhd.

In parallel with the development of science and technology, manual records are being replaced by electronic records in organizations. Malaysia also recognizes the fact that electronic record is crucial to all government and non-government organizations. This practical report is focusing on the industrial training activities done at Kumpulan Media Karangkraf Sdn. Bhd. (KMKSB), especially about the special project on the electronic records being implemented in Karangkraf which is the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System which is used in Ultimate Print Sdn. Bhd. (UPSB). Karangkraf also uses other databases such as Kumpulan Media Karangkraf (KMK) Archive database, Pustaka database, Anjung and Fotostation software. The trainee is placed at various departments in order to analyze and learn about the systems being used. It is not easy to adapt records management practice in a company as not many realizes the importance and how much it is needed in their business procedure, Kumpulan Media Karangkraf as well do not understand the real concept of records management even though they are applying it. However, the industrial training at the company is worth it because the input and knowledge gained are priceless. Hence it is recommended for students to do their industrial training at Karangkraf.
