The role and challenges of MAIK in management of Baitulmal inheritance in Kelantan / Nik Nur Athirah Nik Azhan @ Azhan

The title of this research is “The Role and Challenges of MAIK in the Management of Baitulmal Inheritance in Kelantan.” The study aims to understand the reasons for enhancing the distribution of inheritance in Baitulmal, which is under the management of MAIK. The study is conducted using a qualitative approach and incorporates semi-structured interviews to seek detailed information as well as purposive sampling. The objectives of this study are to analyse the role of MAIK in the division of inheritance, identify the challenges in estate management, and recommend steps to enhance public awareness about the importance of a fair and effective inheritance distribution process. The study established that although MAIK has a crucial function in the administration of Baitulmal inheritance, it is constrained by challenges including legal issues, poor management, and low public awareness. The study proposes enhancing legal support, optimising the functioning of administration, enhancing interconnection between agencies, and organising extensive public awareness initiatives. The following recommendations are intended to achieve the proper and just distribution of inheritance in line with Islamic and legal frameworks. Thereby, balancing traditional Islamic practices with modern administrative obligations places us in a more delicate position where continuous education and strategic planning are critical for handling received assets.
