Industrial training report: Averis Sdn Bhd / Siti Sarah Asmadi

I had the valuable opportunity to undertake a six-month internship at Averis Sdn Bhd in Bangsar South from March 1st to August 9th. During this period, I served as an accounts payable intern for the Jakarta team, where my primary responsibility was managing claims and invoices for Indonesian companies while operating remotely from Malaysia. This experience proved to be particularly enriching as it allowed me to navigate the complexities of remote learning and working, which was a new and challenging aspect of my professional development. Working closely with supervisors based in Jakarta, I was able to enhance my understanding of finance and accounting processes within a multinational corporate setting. The role required meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions. Throughout the internship, I became adept at using various accounting software and tools, which significantly improved my technical proficiency. Moreover, the remote nature of the work necessitated regular virtual meetings and constant communication with my team, thereby honing my ability to convey information clearly and efficiently across different time zones. This setup also required a high level of self-discipline and time management to balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines. The experience taught me the importance of adaptability and resilience in a professional environment, as I had to quickly adjust to new working conditions and overcome any obstacles that arose. Additionally, the internship provided me with insights into the corporate culture at Averis and the broader industry practices in finance and accounting.
