Abstract

In Islam, zakat is one of the five pillars of faith. Zakat is a religious tax that Muslims are mandated to pay on their wealth. The purpose of zakat is to help the poor and needy. Zakat is collected at the time of giving and distributed through charitable organizations. Zakat is an important part of the Islamic faith. It is a duty that Muslims are obligated to perform, and it is one of the five pillars of Islam. Zakat is a percentage of an individual's wealth that is given to the poor, needy, and orphaned. It is considered a form of charity, and Muslims are encouraged to give zakat regularly.

Next, as we know that in household life, a pair husband and wife have children could be more than one person, even up to two, or three people, and so on. This is what happens between children and children become siblings, they are mother and father. Their destinies and life paths are different, and the sustenance that Allah SWT has given them for each child is different. There are among those who have worked to earn a good income through their work. If the calculated income has been affected by the mandatory zakat law. In our siblings, there are those who really need it cost. Among these siblings, some are under 20 years old, moderate during their education at university, but still financed by their parents, and some are already married. For our sibling who is married, originally, they have already had a pretty good income but because he/she went on to college level which is higher, the postgraduate program he/ she needs to stop working, in the sense of the word income becomes non-existent, so needs financial assistance to survive college and the expenses of his wife and children.
