Abstract

The intake of students at Uitm Seri Iskandar is increasing from time to time, and yet they do not have any social hub or a Chill place. Therefore, designing Chill places that are beneficial and provide much-needed space for students involves integrating elements that support learning, social interaction, and relaxation. The Social hub designed for students serves as a multi-functional space that fosters learning, social interaction, and cultural engagement in the outdoor environment. Therefore, the idea of a social hub place is to help students with Study and Learning Spaces, Social Interactions, and Events and Activities. This place is close to the main entrance of UiTM SERI ISKANDAR and faces the lake. Since all UiTM students are Malaysian citizens, applying the Malay language to the concept of Selection "Kerawang: Punca Rahsia" to design a social hub is a good idea. This idea reveals an intricate design hidden in plain sight, like a "Hide & Seek" game concept. This structure combines traditional architectural elements with modern educational needs, creating an open, versatile, and inviting area that supports various student activities. Key features include an elevated platform for group discussions and events, flexible seating arrangements, and integration of technology, such as Wi-Fi and charging stations, to enhance the learning experience. The use of sustainable materials and environmentally conscious design ensures the social hub is both durable and harmonious with its natural surroundings. Additionally, the structure's design reflects the cultural identity of Malay students, providing a sense of belonging and pride. The social hub is not only a shelter but also a chill place that promotes collaboration, creativity, and relaxation, making it an essential part of the student campus experience. The design idea of this social hub is expected to contribute to sustainability in its operations and give hope to students to support learning, and social interaction to build identity in becoming valuable people in the future.
