Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic, also known as the Coronavirus pandemic, that started hitting the world in December 2019, has affected the ways people live and work and the standard operating procedures by which the activities of industries and organisations are conducted worldwide. Many organisations have begun to adopt new ways of working by using teleworking or a work-from-home policy to effectively adapt to the new normal. This study aims to analyse the existing literature on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on labour issues in Asian countries. Using the PRISMA Statement (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) review method, the present study identifies twenty related studies with a systematic review of the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The review of these articles focuses on three main themes: health, work from home and livelihood, which are further divided into nine sub-themes. This study offers several significant contributions to knowledge and practical implementations. It provides researchers with information and ideas from a review and analysis of previous research to get a general view of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on labour issues in Asian countries. Accordingly, the contributions from this research may indirectly provide ideas to government, institutions, or agencies to develop effective labour policies in managing the new norms.
