Abstract
My 6-month industrial training at Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) has been a transformative experience, contributing to both my professional and personal growth. I had the opportunity to work on various projects that exposed me to real-world branding strategies. Engaging in multiple marketing channels, including email, website, and Microsoft Teams, I enhanced my digital marketing skills. I also developed my editing expertise through creating posters, animations, and montage videos, which helped strengthen my department’s brand identity (GTCM). I am also able to improved my confidence, communication, time management, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure. Additionally, I conducted a SWOT analysis of PETRONAS. The company’s strengths include strong security measures to protect employees, though improvements such as a standardized incident reporting system for face recognition technology would enhance efficiency. PETRONAS fosters a positive work culture with Distress and Recharge spaces, which could be expanded across departments. Addressing weaknesses like scheduling conflicts requires better communication, while hiring multimedia professionals could improve internal engagement. PETRONAS has opportunities to leverage Al for data management and explore collaborations with companies like Tesla. However, competition from local oil firms can be addressed through strategic partnerships in motorsports, and stronger cybersecurity awareness can help mitigate cybersecurity threats. Overall, this internship has deepened my understanding of corporate operations and branding while sharpening my strategic thinking. The knowledge and experience gained will serve as a strong foundation for my future career.
