TXD465 : Textile illustration / College of Creative Arts

UiTM, College of Creative Arts (2025) TXD465 : Textile illustration / College of Creative Arts. [Teaching Resource]

Abstract

This syllabus is designed for textile students to learn how to illustrate a thematic textile art by using various textile materials available in the market. Students are required to brainstorm and sketch their ideas in a personal Visual diary/sketch-book prior to identifying the suitable fabric materials. The emphasis is more on the subject/theme that brings joy, happiness and inspiration. Later, they will research on types of material, colour, texture, motif and weight of the fabric to be used for creative works. They will get involved with a lot of studio activities (i.e: sewing, stitching, sticking) and frequent demonstration, discussion and lectures. All finished textile-works will be presented in a critique session where students are required to participate and interact between one another.
