Abstract

In this study, three layer of particleboard 700kg/m3 will be use Macaranga gigantean wood particles sizes with mixer 0.5 mm and fines as a face and back, 1.0mm and 2.0mm as a core. For resin content used; 12% (core), 12%, 14% and 16% (face and back). This type of density will be made a board called particleboard after been cured by heat and pressure. Several type of test will determine the physical and mechanical properties of this board. The result shows that the over sizes of particles for core and more percentages of resin that used will give better properties except for thickness swelling and water absorption.
