Journey to the heart of Islam through mind mapping: Muhammad al-Fateh / Akmal Dhiyauddin Rosman

Nowadays, many youngsters in Malaysia do not know about the History of Islam and the civilizations. They only learn about History of Islam in several chapters in Pendidikan Islam. They do not have the exposure of History of Islam more than that so many of them are clueless when they are ask about Islamic civilization. The other problem is when it comes to History, the normal respond from them is “History is boring”. They think it is waste of time for them to learn it. The aim of this is research is to make an application that can teach students about Islamic history using interactive mind map. They can interact with the mind map with all the notes and fun facts that included in the application. Therefore, they can focus with the topic because they can explore it themselves. They will feel fun learn using the application compared to learning in the classroom. This application will be an additional learning method beside what they have learn in the classroom. This project is using ADDIE model in building the application. This application was being tested for its effectiveness and 10 peoples have been chosen as the respondent for the application. The test was using the pre-test and post-test question. The result of the test is positive. All of the respondents understand the contents of the application and the results of the pre-test and post-test were increased.
