Abstract
Islamophobia is the fear, hatred of or prejudice against the Islamic religion or Muslims generally especially when seen as the source of terrorism. Islamophobia phenomenon is basically a religious-based hatred. This term was first used in early 20th century and comes to light again when an attack happened at World Trade Centre in New York on 11 September 2001. Since then, hatred towards Islam among Western countries been increasing. This resentment towards Islam also increased because of the developments in Middle East. A radical group who named themselves as Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) had came to surface declaring themselves as the true Muslims. This group has been exposed to worldwide about their wrongdoing in launching an attack years ago in London. Because of this attack, the fear and hatred towards Islam was drastically increased. Since this phenomenon happened, the Muslims woman are prohibited to wear Burqa in France, the discrimination against the act of Muslims and a strict security check up at every immigration towards the Muslims and people who came from a country where majority of its residents are Muslims.
