Abstract

Oriented Strand Board (OSB) from Ludai species (Sapium baccatum) is one of wood composite panel which have most similar strength properties with plywood. The purpose of this study is to determine the strength properties of OSB made from Ludai species (Sapium baccatum). This species have interesting physical properties, bright in color and the density is 400kg/m3, These properties are the factors why this study was made and to determine whether Ludai is suitable or not in the production of OSB. The trial of using only 3% resin content with different density of board until the lowest value is 500kg/m 3 and the highest value is 700kg/m 3 is to determine and identify the strength to make comparable with Malaysian Standard and to commercialize it.
