Abstract

Printer is one of the technological development devices that allow people to produce hard copies of documents, images, or any digital content which results in widespread use in society nowadays. The importance of printers can be seen through the various types of printers available in today's market. However, those available printers in the market can only print materials from devices just in one shot. Even though common printers allow users to print on both sides of a paper, it is still causing a huge amount of paper usage which contributes to 45% of papers used in offices being wasted every day. Thus, to optimize paper usage reduction in printing practices, Reverz Printer is introduced which come with dual functions; 1) to print like a normal printer and 2) to erase ink from printed paper. The second feature of Reverz Printer adopted 'unprint' technology which uses a green laser to remove printer ink from paper several times without damaging the paper fiber. With Reverz Printer, consumers can reuse printed papers without having to waste them. Besides having the 'unprint' technology, Reverz Printer is portable, rechargeable, and supports the WiFi connection. The ultimate goal of Reverz Printer is to provide mutual benefits for both the environment and the users as it mitigates the environmental impact of paper consumption by reducing paper usage, conserving natural resources, and giving potential cost savings to the users.
