Library Information System (LIS) / Nurul Izzaty Mohd Zahari

The title of this research is Library Information System. The main purpose of Library Information System is to help SMK Convent Bukit Nanas Library in their daily activities. Currently, SMK Convent Bukit Nanas’s library, using a manual system to record the process of borrows and returns book, during. The problems arise when during the 30 minutes of recess time, the number of students borrow and return book increase and the library don’t have enough librarians to serve many students in that short time. In this Library Information System, the researcher using an agile method to develop the system, it is because agile method is more suitable to this system that needs involvement of user from the start until end of the project. Other than that it saves cost and suitable for non complex system. During this research an interview has been done by the researcher with librarian teacher, Mr. Azrin and librarian to get user requirement and getting more understanding about the situation. After that all the requirement is interpret to a diagram such as use case diagram, to show how user will interact with the system, flowchart to show the flow of the system and how it will work, lastly entity relational diagram is create to show where each data to be restored. Beside that using the requirement and the researcher has design the interface for Library Information System. During the research and developing system future work recommended by the researcher is to do barcode scanner so that librarian don’t have to enter student id and book id during borrow and return process.
