MUE401 : Music education in Malaysia / College of Creative Arts

This course introduces students to music education in Malaysia through the main topics of history and development, educational policies, philosophy, curriculum, and issues. Students will study the history and development of education and music education in Malaysia from the early 1900s to the present time. The course will familiarize students with the philosophies and educational policies affecting Malaysian education and music education. Changes and issues concerning music in the school curriculum and in tertiary education will be discussed especially in light of current needs, globalization, and technological advances.
