Practical training report at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak / Mohamad Zuladli Mohamad Ali

Pustaka Negeri Sarawak also known as PUSTAKA was established on 2nd January 2000. The establishment is based on Law of Sarawak State Library Ordinance 1999. This organization play a vital role in serving the information needs of 27 distinct multi-racial ethnic groups in state. Therefore, the services provided by them include many facilities that can facilitate all type of races without dominant on one field meanwhile cover all type sources of knowledge that can benefit all people within the state. PUSTAKA is conceived as a major information resources centre and as the hub of information services for the public and private sector. It will link with libraries, archives and information centre elsewhere in Sarawak and throughout Malaysia. It will also provide a gateway into and from publicly accessible international information centres. Its complex will serve as a community centre of knowledge and cultural enlightenment, where Malaysians in Sarawak can not only access a vast store of information, in the form of both printed and electronic media, but also gather for educational and cultural exchanges, programme and participate in many other regularly conducted activities.
