IND289: Furniture Design III / College of Built Environment

The course covers on the design of custom furniture, both loose and built-in, focusing on construcion/making techniques, detailing and production of detail drawings. Students shall produce mock-up model or prototype of furniture design in order to experience ergonomic, structural and manufacturing problem. These hands-on training shall establishes students with practical and intelligent sense in designing and furniture making taking into consideration the functional, technical, aesthetics and economics aspects of custom furniture design. An academic trip to furniture manufacturer shall give an exposure to a better understanding towards custom furniture design.
