Abstract
Nowadays, the construction of kitchen cabinets is very expensive in conjunction to the limited kitchen space especially for terrace type residential houses and apartment flats. The purpose of this project is to design a multi-functional kitchen table that is suitable to be placed in a limited home space. A virtual prototype of an expandable and foldable kitchen table was produced using SketchUp 3D Design software. Next, a questionnaire was conducted to obtain respondents’ feedback data on product features based on the virtual prototype. A set of questionnaires was distributed using Google forms to 208 respondents with different backgrounds in terms of gender, age, profession, and income. Based on the results, it was found that the design factor had the highest mean value (M = 4.68), followed by satisfaction (M = 4.55) and marketing (M = 4.40). In general, the comparative analysis indicated that most respondents gave a score above 4.50 which implies that respondents strongly agree on all factors. Correlation analysis of design and market toward satisfaction revealed a strong positive correlation (r-value > 0.70). It can be concluded that the expandable and foldable kitchen table has modern design features, affordable and easy to operate suitable for contemporary home furniture.
