A study of water consumption level in domestic sector

Water consumption is the amount of water that consumed by the resident and based on the consumer demand as they are life basic necessary. This has been the Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB) as the water provider to play role in water management of State of Malacca and responsible for the treatment and water distribution. The objectives of study are to identify the level of water consumption among the consumer and the factors that cause of changes in the level of water consumption. This study is deal with several factors namely water supply, water demand, water consumption, water tariffs and population growth. In this study, the researcher collects the information about level of consumer water consumption from interview, observation, website and secondary data as journal, article, annual report and also newspaper. Based on the data analysis, the factors several factors that contribute to the changes of water consumption level which are water tariff, weather and season, number of users and meter reading. From the analysis done, effectively produce water tariff, controlling the quantity of water use, and recover meter defective as the recommendations for this study. Important to the company for enhancing efficiency, productivity and quality as water supplier.
