Abstract
Mathematics is an integral in the development of science and technology. Thus, this study was conducted to identify the common errors in solving application of multiplication problem among pupils Year 3 of SK Laksamana, Kuching and to examine the effectiveness of using multiplication tables in solving application of multiplication problem skills. The researcher also reviewed the problems that existed when the method is applied in solving problems involving multiplication. In this research, there are 22 respondents are involved while all of Year 3 pupils. The instruments used in this study are Pre-Test and Post Test. The data collections were analyzed descriptively. The finding was showed that from the Post Test data analysis indicate that 82% (18) pupils passed the test. The result showed that the new method or strategy was successful in solving application of multiplication problem and encourage learners for more memorable in multiplication facts. Therefore, hopefully this method will able to transform pupil’s achievement in multiplication and become one of the best strategy to improve, to help, to remediate to overcome their poor performance in Mathematics generally.
