Abstract
This study aimed to identify the difficulties in memorizing basic fact of multiplication and the effectiveness of using multiplication table to improve pupils’ performances. The respondents comprised of 18 pupils Year 5 selected from SK Kpg Senari, Petra Jaya, Kuching, Sarawak. The sampling method is using census. This research used a pre test and post test. The research also used individual interview to identify the difficulties in memorizing multiplication table. The pupils took the pre test before the treatment and post test after the 4 week interventions. The finding shows that the results are increasing from 38.9% in pre test compare to 72.2% in the post test. It shows that the usage of multiplication table if practice consistently can help pupils to master the basic fact of multiplication and improve their performances in mathematics.
