Abstract

This course, being the final part of the two-semester long project, allows student to practice decision making on the production and commercialization of their design. This course will include, among others, areas such as manufacturing and its cost estimation, component assembly, cost reduction, supporting production and impact of DFM on student’s overall design project. Aside from on-going progress review of student’s design development, the course will feature weekly lectures and studio supervision on detail design development, production and commercialization issues to expose students to both the basics and current advances in the field. At the end of the course, student will exhibit their design and prototype of their Industrial Design selected field of product, transport and furniture.
