Abstract

Shear walls are vertical elements of the horizontal force resisting system as they able to resist forces directed along the length of the wall. Shear wall has been constructed for high rise building but it also been built for residential building for the same function as to provide support for building. The construction of shear wall been well known these days due to its positive impact and different performance on position of structures in the construction field. The aim for this report was to have further understanding about the construction of shear wall. In addition, as the first stage of construction, it began with installation of BRC, installation of electrical conduit, plumbing works, kicker base works, formwork erection, inspection, concreting works and dismantle formworks. The last stage is scheme coating works. Meanwhile, this report also studied the problems and solutions taken during the longer duration of construction works.
