he objective of this project paper is to bring out some of the important issues relating to the background of the datas presented in a financial statement. Whilst financial statements serves a major source of information by the various users and with varied purposes, they should be aware of the background relating to the information presented. The reliance on these statements as a decision-making guideline may be affected by the limitations inherent in the statement itself and also by the practices of manipulation of the data presented so as to give a favourable picture of a business situation.
