Abstract

This course aims to introduce to the process of assimilation, adaptation and innovation of the Malay world. The artworks and art forms of the Malays manifest the evolution of an artistic expression which was deeply rooted and inspired by Islam. This course focuses on the aesthetics value of the Malay-Islamic legacy in the enrichment of designs and motifs based on natural phenomenon to the philosophical interpretation of the universe and life in general.
