Abstract
ROOMA explores the integration of urban agriculture in the design of communal spaces, focusing on the utilization of aromatherapy derived from peppermint plants. Urban agriculture, encompassing various cultivation methods in densely populated areas, offers sustainable solutions for local food production and community engagement. The study area, specifically designed spaces for students, incorporates the cultivation of peppermint plants for their stress-relieving properties. ROOMA envisions a multi-functional environment where students can not only benefit from the aesthetic appeal of urban agriculture but also experience the therapeutic effects of peppermint aromatherapy. The incorporation of aromatic plants like peppermint aims to enhance the wellbeing of individuals within the urban setting creating a harmonious balance between nature and the built environment. By examining the potential of urban agriculture to address both food security and mental health, this project proposes an innovative approach to urban design that prioritizes sustainability and the holistic well-being of urban dwellers.
