Abstract

The designer is designing an armchair that is influenced by the mosquito characteristics and form. This project focus on apartment houses as the main location. Through the research, the designer started with brainstorming method to identify the location of the furniture in the apartment houses. After a few researches, the designer decided to place the armchair on the balcony of the apartment as the suggested location. As a result, the designer designed QUITOS as an armchair that inspired by mosquitoes. The purpose is creating an armchair with a design that mimics the patterns found on mosquito wings, legs and its form that can offering interesting furniture appealing. This seat is made through plywood bending technique, so that the user can sit comfortably. The main structure is made of metal as it provides s sturdy structure for free standing furniture concept. Furniture designed with a concept inspired by nature also provides a sense and awareness of mosquitoes in the world for future generations.
