Abstract

The designer focused on grasshoppers and dragonflies to be analysed as concepts. After the process, the dragonfly was selected as the main concept of this furniture design project. Hence, the dragonfly-inspired armchair, AZDRA, represents a seamless blend of nature's aesthetics and functional design. With graceful lines and organic curves, the chair reflects the elegance of a dragonfly, offering a visually captivating and sophisticated piece of furniture. The backrest, featuring a resilient wing-like pattern, not only enhances the chair's aesthetic appeal but also contributes to its structural integrity. The materials used, such as rubber wood and metal, are to strengthen the armchair. Rubber wood is chosen because it improves the structure. In addition, metal is used as a main structure for the armchair to make it stronger. This dragonfly-inspired armchair exhibits an effective combination of nature-inspired design, and well-constructed techniques.
