Hopper’s armchair / Noramira Syakira Razali

The designers aim to achieve furniture concepts for residential areas, and a grasshopper was selected as the main influence in this furniture design project. In the HOPPER’s design process, the armchair design is influenced by specifically grasshopper characteristics and forms. The segmented and sleek appearance of grasshopper legs can be incorporated into the chair's overall look and feel. These adaptations can improve the chair's comfort, flexibility, and stability while adding a touch of unique design flair and imitating natural structure to enter the market in Malaysia. The HOPPER armchair comes with aesthetics and comfort to prioritise ergonomic design to ensure user comfort. Moreover, the leather seat makes the armchair extra comfortable because of the sitting position on the armchair. The forms of the grasshopper can be seen on the chair legs and backrest design, which show the characteristics of grasshoppers. Focusing on the studio apartment, the HOPPER design can enhance the creative atmosphere with its sleek and efficient nature-inspired design. Urban armchairs are tranquil retreats from city life, whether beside a city-view window or in a cosy reading corner.
