Abstract

This course provides opportunity for students to comprehend the basic principles in managing captive animals in various settings i.e zoo, farm, and laboratory. However, emphasize will be given more to animals in zoo setting. Students will also learn the concepts in animal behaviour, basic husbandry, nutrition, captive breeding, health and welfare of the animals in captivity. Teaching methods include case studies, lectures, laboratory time and field work.
