Abstract
This course exposes students to the various terms, principles, and techniques of modern music arranging in which is an essential aspect before they explore the more creative art of musical composition. Students will learn basic arranging techniques and apply such knowledge to review, analyze, criticize and evaluate compositions and arrangements. The course includes the introduction to the sibelius notation software in which will be the students’ main medium of scoring for an arrangement. At the end of the course, students are expected to produce a simple but effective musical arrangement of a selected song.
