ALS444: Copy of Academic Writing for Research / Academy of Language Studies

This course provides practice in writing organized and well-developed prose for academic research writing purposes. It introduces students to the elements of good writing and the characteristics of a well-formed paragraphs, outlines and full academic research paper. Students are exposed to the various techniques to paraphrase and write appropriate summary. Students are also given tasks to analyse, synthesise and evaluate texts from various secondary sources and write annotated bibliography. Finally, this course aims to develop students' ability to incorporate information from various secondary sources into an academic secondary research academic paper writing appropriately.
