Abstract

An internship is a period of work experience offered by an employer to give final year students the exposure to the working environment, often within a specific industry, which relates to their field of study. I had the opportunity to do my internship training at Tabung Haji Banda Kaba Melaka for the period of 24 weeks. It was a memorable and valuable experience for me as it taught me a lot especially in dealing and communicating with customer as well as giving me enough exposure in the financial industry. Since I was required for job rotation, I had to adapt to new job every other week. For example, for week 1 I was required to do administrative work such as making report on employees' attendance and leaves. For week 2, I was required to deal with depositors in the customer service desk and answer their inquiries. On the following week, I had to follow my supervisor to do marketing campaign outside of the office. Thus, this internship has helped me to develop and sharpen my soft skills such as good communication, time management, and adaptability with office culture.
