FET681 : Drawing dimension art and individual practices / College of Creative Arts

This module enables the student to progressively evolve a more self-motivated practice through practical, studio-based inquiries whilst at the same time establishing research skills relevance to the context of drawing as an significant practice in art making. Tutorials and group critiques hope to support the students in the developing further their individual enquiries through discussion of material and formal qualities of the students works in relation to their intended content. Tutorial and group critiques also guide each student in establishing some reading list appropriate to them. Lectures will equip the students with a knowledge based and research skills that will help students to develop a range of artistic research strategies including analysing the use of art journals, gallery visits and art criticism as well as looking at seminal drawings in relation to their own idea and body of work.
