Abstract

Information can be obtained through many means these days. Among them is the public library which is a one stop center that provides various types of information resources for general use. In addition, many facilities are also provided for visitors to work, read, study, etc. The aim of this research is to investigate about space planning which can affect visitors' interest in coming to the library today. The objectives of the research are to explore the space planning of public libraries and to investigate the visitor's level of satisfaction in using public libraries in Malaysia. The research was conducted at Raja Tun Uda Library in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The research using method on-site observing and layout analysis to explore the space planning pf public library. In addition, the questionnaire was also used to get 46 visitors feedback about satisfaction using the public library. The data obtained has been analyzed to obtain answers to research questions regarding public libraries.
