Abstract
Violence against women is a violation of women's human rights and a priority public health issue.ln recent decade there has been growing public recognition that sexual and domestic violence are overlapped and are interrelated, and that rape and the other forms of sexual assault are routine aspect of domestic violence. By the turn of 21 Century, civil and other kinds of local war had become unimaginably prevalent, and in that context, so too had the especial brutalities directed at women and girls. The direct violence of verbal, emotional and physiological abuse is also addressed in the context of everyday domestic violence and torture of women. Discussion of indirect violence include the functioning of fear and it's control of women in the context of domestic violence and sexual coercion, the impact of social violence against women routinely manifested as gossip and social exclusion, and the dramatic effects of terror and political surveillance sustain by the military and state apparatus. It is important to increase the awareness of the public towards violence against women. It is to ensure that the women can avoid themselves from being violence victims and also can defend themselves.
