Development of web-based GIS for disabled people in Kedah / Wan Nor Sameeha Wan Mazlan

Finding jobs in Malaysia has become one of the main issues where Malaysian find it is hard to get a decent job. Followed by today’s economy that is unstable, the jobs opportunity offered are not many. This will affect most of Malaysian people especially those who need jobs the most. The population of disabled people or DP is quite large that has different disabilities. DP also as normal people need jobs to continue their life and survive in this world instead of hoping for the help from other people. Jobs offered to the DP are not many compared to the jobs offered to normal people. This is because they find it is hard to take DP working with them as they need extra care and practices to understand of the job scope and become proficient in working. This study has been carried out by building a web-based GIS regarding the DP group in Kedah especially. This is because Kedah country has become the location for this study. There are several methods that have been implemented that are referred to the study methods chapter. Among the methods used in this study is that the software used to process the data is using QGIS and Sublime Text 3 are used to build the web-based GIS. Data or information about DP obtained from JKM according to the stated categories and according to the areas contained in Kedah. This is because this study was carried out to help the DP group who are still looking for work as well as to make it easier for the private sector to help this DP group find a job according to their circumstances. This web-based GIS page is also built for the purpose of making it easier for any party where the content of the web page presents several DP mats as well as maps that show the sprinkling of their location, especially to those looking for work.
