Abstract
Structural defects are very prone to happen around the building structure while carring out a construction, thence this report will interpret about the aim of the dilapidation survey and the procedure of conducting a dilapidation survey from beginning to end. This internship report also serves the purpose to record the details of my industrial training which was conducted in K&P Cove Consultancy Sdn Bhd, which is a building surveying company located in Bandar Puteri, Puchong. The chosen project for this report was carried out at Pontian, Johor. The project for this report was conducted to record existing structural defects as well as to make both parties well-informed of the current damages of the property nearby the construction area. The objective of this project is to conduct a dilapidation survey and identify every defect on the existing structural condition of the building. It will highlight on the procedure of preparing a dilapidation survey report of the data collected during inspection. This report will also focus on the method of drawing layout plan and how to indicate every defect precisely. One of the methods that was conducted are taking photographs of defects and damages for both house unit and infrastructure. Dilapidation survey report was also prepared as per client’s request. This report has also showed how prominent it is to carry out a dilapidation survey to reduce complication for both parties in the future.
