Abstract

This course introduces students to the history, theory and practice of documentary production. In the first part of the course, deals with the the history of documentary cinema from its beginning in the 1920s to the present. This course will also exposes students to the variety of documentary forms and practices developed by selected filmmakers in representing the world such as; by using fact, truth, objectivity or critiquing reality, parodying and etc. In the second part the course, students will demonstrate their creativity, critical thinking and practical skills by producing their own short documentary film.
