EPC423 : Description of English syntax / Academy of Language Studies

This course is a basic introduction to the syntax of the English language. The course requires students to describe the syntax of the language by identifying basic sentence patterns, reducing sentences to phrases and clauses and embedding them into sentences to produce complex sentences. Students create their own sentences using the structures taught and demonstrating the structures through tree diagrams. The course also requires students to analyze the syntax of texts.
