Abstract
This course concentrates on the development of contemporary art on selected three Southeast Asian countries; Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand. Rather than adopting the chronological and linear approaches, topics of discussions will be approached thematically, that is major themes that are pivotal and crucial in the evolution of contemporary art in these three countries. Pertinent differences in the underlying worldview, philosophies and aesthetic orientations from pre-modern, through modern and post modern epochs will be central issues for discussions in this course.
