The relationship between usage of internet and academic performance among UiTM'S Pahang students / Dzulaika Sharmanne Tagol Aros and Nor Samihah Abdullah

The purpose of the paper is to explore the relationship between usage of Internet and academic performance among UiTM's Jengka, Pahang students. There are two sections of research questions; the first section is to discover the courses, reason in using Internet, whether students achieve good performance access internet, and the relationship between frequency of using Internet and academic performance. Meanwhile, for the second section it consists of group the most access to the Internet, specified websites frequently visited by students, time students frequently used the internet and Internet service signal that student prefer the most. This study was done at UiTM Pahang Campus Jengka and only limited to the students of Faculty of Office System Management and Technology that involved two courses which are OMl14 (Diploma) and 0M221 (Degree). This research was using the descriptive and correlational research design. The significant of this study are to solve student problems in accessed Internet and make improvement to overcome the problem. The findings show that, there is a relationship between Internet and academic performance and most of the students that access to the Internet still well performed in their study. The other findings also stated that, the main reason why student's access to the Internet is for searched and visited the social website. The possible reason and the implications of these findings will be elaborated and discussed.
