Abstract
My sculpture artwork celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Wau Bulan, a traditional Malay- sian kite known for its elegance and grace. Wau Bulan represents more than just a flying ob- ject; it symbolizes unity, strength, and the indomitable spirit of the Malaysian people. Through the use of dynamic lines, I aim to capture the essence and vibrancy of this captivating art form. The lines flow and intertwine, mimicking the dance of Wau Bulan in the sky while sym- bolising our diverse society’s interconnectedness. By employing these dynamic lines, I seek to evoke a sense of awe and wonder, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the cultural nar- rative woven into the art piece. I intend to create visually captivating artwork that transcends cultural boundaries, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the traditions and artistic expressions that make our world so diverse and vibrant. Through the dynamic lines of my sculpture, I aim to ignite a sense of wonderment, inspire dialogue, and celebrate the beauty and significance of Wau Bulan in our shared human experience. The dynamic lines in my sculpture reflect the energy and movement inherent in the kite’s flight, creating a sense of fluidity and dynamism.
