Abstract

This course is designed to help students in the theory and techniques of classical acting which. existed before modern acting, marked by the arrival of realism. Stanislavski was considered as the father of modern acting who invented " the System". Students need to learn this system of acting.This course will train actors to understand the ancient Greek and the Elizabethan styles of acting, during the time of William Shakespeare. Besides this western style of acting, students will also be briefly exposed to the Malaysian, Bangsawan classical acting. Hence, learning ‘Bangsawan’ will be the end module of this course.
