Abstract
This course is an introduction to the study of film and television as audio-visual mediums. The course introduces students to various mediums and formats of film, from documentaries, animated films, short films, and experimental films to the genres of popular cinema. As well, students will be exposed to several popular television genres such as soap operas, sitcoms, crime dramas and music videos. The course also deals with the brief history, key concepts and specific industrial and cultural issues of film and television.
