Abstract
Bunga Kantan or the specific name for this flower is Etlingera Elatior, which is very familiar to me as I grew up in Malacca and it is commonly used for cooking. I created four resist textile pieces incorporating motifs, patterns, and colours inspired by the shape and textures of the bunga kantan. The style of my garment collection is a light and casual collection. The style is driven by this flower which also produces several intriguing shades of colour, such as peach, variety of pinks, green, and light brown. Aside from a 4 metre length fabric, I designed a collection of long dresses, a blouse, and skirt which showcase a feminin style.
